a bit about me
Hello, I’m Jen – A professional freelance proofreader and editor specialising in the romance, mystery and sci-fi genres. I’m educated to Degree Level (English and Drama BA (Hons) – University College Worcester) and now based in Hampshire where I live with my husband and two daughters.
I am an Intermediate Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and
Proofreading (CIEP), formerly the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP).
I have also completed and passed my proofreading training with the CIEP. As I
am committed to your story as much as you are, I believe it’s important to hone
and refine my craft by regularly continuing with professional training.
Therefore, I plan on expanding upon my professional development throughout 2023 and beyond.
Not only do I edit and proofread for a living but, more importantly, I so enjoy the work I do and have a genuine passion for the written word. As a child, I would often spend hours perusing the fiction aisles in bookshops. Reading has always been a big part of my life. I am now fortunate enough to read for a living.
I love working with authors who have a story to tell, who are passionate about fiction and creating works of art. I hope I am fortunate enough to be on that journey with you.
